When you're asked to take some relaxed informal business portraits / profile shots of the board members for a London financial / Insurance business, where better is there to go than to a coffee shop and make the most of the different locations in there.

Book Authors / Writers profile portraits
I've been photographing a few book authors / writers profile shots recently and I really like getting to know these interesting people during our time shooting. They all seem to be fascinating people with interesting stories to tell.
So I thought i'd share a few of the profile / portrait shots of them here.
Big Issue seller portrait.
It's with great sadness that I read about the passing of Big Issue Bob AKA Ben Nevis Bob, who I photographed a few years ago for The Big Issue.
He was a lovely chap who I used to say hi to, but last time I was in Brighton town centre I didn't see him.
It was an honour to meet him and to have taken his portrait.
RIP Bob.
Meeting Brighton's own Disco Bunny
Brighton's very own Disco Bunny (although he belongs to the world).
The other week I got to hang out with the one and only Disco Bunny, take his portrait and feed off his positive vibes. It was a fun morning and a great glimpse into his life and how people react to him.
So thanks Disco Bunny and i'm really enjoying watching your adventures on Facebook.
The Way We Work - Brighton Home Brewers portraits
The Way We Work - Brighton Home Brewers portraits
I had a great day last month shooting my regular project, The Way We Work for Viva Brighton magazine.
I got to meet and take the portrait of five of Brighton & Hove's home brewers. I even got to take some of their delicious beers home with me.

Brighton Science Festival Founder Portraits
Brighton Science Festival Founder Portraits
I've been very fortunate to meet Brighton Science Festival Founder Richard Robinson twice now and to take his portrait on two separate occasions about a year apart. Both times I was amused and entertained by Richard as he told stories / tales / facts / jokes etc.
It's funny how someones mood can influence a portrait. The first time that I met Richard he was in a really good mood and the main impression that I got from him was of a mad eccentric English scientist so I think that came across in the portrait (the bottom shot). However the second time, Richard was recovering from an illness so was more subdued and although still entertaining, he was a bit calmer and again, I think that came across in the portrait.
I managed to take my family along to this years Brighton Science Festival and we had a fantastic time there with the kids getting really stuck in. So until next year Richard and whatever mood you are in, it will be a pleasure to hopefully take your portrait yet again.
Head Shot Profile Photography - The end result.

Professional Profile Head Shots
It's always nice to see how your work ends up being used and i'm very pleased to share this with you.
So this is the end result of a head shot / profile shoot that I did with the lovely Hayley Lawes (who I met back in 2010 when I shot her wedding). She wanted something simple that could be used in a few different ways, so I suggested a few different set ups and a change of clothes to get the most out of the portrait shoot. And I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I didn't think the website would be as image heavy as it is and I think it looks great.
Hayley is so professional and great at what she does and I love how her coaching site really shows her off as she is really selling herself.
